Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data Codea processes, why, and what your rights are, under Peru's Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 29733) and its regulations.

1. Controller

The data controller is Codea's administrator. Contact: angelhuamannahui@gmail.com.

2. What data we process

  • Identification: your name and, if you sign in with Google, your email and an account identifier. Without an account, only the name you type.
  • Learning: routes you enroll in, videos marked as watched, quiz answers, submissions, comments, grades, XP, streak, rewards and appearance and language preferences.
  • Teachers: if you apply to teach, the form data (phone, specialty, experience, links and reason).
  • Technical: minimal data generated by the authentication and database service (for example, sign-in date). We use no advertising or third-party trackers.

3. What we use it for

  • Giving you access and saving your progress.
  • Letting your route's teachers review and grade your submissions.
  • Showing leaderboards, the achievements wall and your rewards.
  • Reviewing teacher applications.
  • Improving the routes with aggregate statistics.

The legal basis is your consent, given when you sign in. You can withdraw it at any time.

4. Who can see your data

  • Teachers and the administrator see your progress, submissions and grades.
  • Other students see your name, avatar, level, XP, streak and achievements on leaderboards and the wall. They never see your submissions or grades.
  • Providers: Codea runs on Google Firebase (authentication, database and hosting). Its servers may be outside Peru, which means an international data transfer under the provider's safeguards.

We don't sell or share your data for advertising.

5. How long we keep it

While you use Codea. If you ask for deletion or your account is inactive for more than 24 months, we delete your data, except what the law requires us to keep.

6. Your rights

You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, cancellation and objection by writing to angelhuamannahui@gmail.com. We will reply within the legal deadlines. If you are not satisfied, you can contact Peru's National Personal Data Protection Authority (Ministry of Justice and Human Rights).

7. Minors

Codea is for people aged 16 or older. If you are 16 or 17, you need permission from your parent or guardian. If we detect data from people under 16, we will delete it.

8. Security

We use access rules so each student sees only their own data and only each route's teachers can grade. No system is 100% secure; if we detect an incident, we will let you know.

9. Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date above and announce it on the platform.
